Attractive salaries

Lafarge prides itself on its attractive remuneration policy, which includes performance-related bonuses and employee stock plans that ensure everyone shares in the Group's success.

Rewarding employees’ efforts

To encourage high-quality work, Lafarge applies a competitive pay policy. Part of an employee's annual bonus is based on their personal performance. As a result, each employee receives a salary that reflects their efforts.

A motivating employee stock plan

Since 1961, Lafarge has actively encouraged employees to hold shares. The intention is for employees to participate in the Group's economic performance.

The Group launched its latest employee shareholder plan ("Lafarge in Action") in 2005. 48.8% of employees subscribed to that offer.

At the end of 2006, Lafarge employees held 1.74% of the Group's stock and 2.88% of its voting rights.

The Group renews this kind of operation every 2 to 3 years in order to increase the number of employee shareholders.

A well-liked Group

Results of an internal survey

In early 2006, employees were polled about their level of satisfaction, their commitment and their opinions regarding internal changes. 80% of the workforce responded. Key figures show:

  • 81% are proud to work for Lafarge,
  • 73% would recommend Lafarge as a place to work,
  • 75% think that health and safety rules are respected within their work group,
  • 68% of employees feel encouraged to suggest new methods.
