Philippe Dauman (1954) was appointed to the Lafarge Board of Directors in 2007.

He has served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Viacom Inc. (United-States) since September 2006. From 2000 to 2006, he was Co-Chairman of the Board and Managing Director of D.N.D. Capital Partners L.L.C., an investment fund specializing in media and telecommunications.


Before creating DND Capital Partners, Philippe Dauman was Vice-Chairman of the Board of Viacom from 1996 to May 2000, Executive Vice-President from 1995 to May 2000, and Chief Counsel and Secretary of the Board from 1993 to 1998. Prior to that, he was a partner in New York law firm Shearman & Sterling. He served as Director of Lafarge North America from 1997 to 2006. He is currently a Director of Viacom Inc. and National Amusements Inc. (US), a member of the Dean's Council for the University of Columbia Law School, a member of the Business Roundtable (US), a member of the Executive Committee of the National Cable & Telecommunications Association (US), and Vice-president of the Partnership for New York (US). He is also a member of the Board of Kipp Foundation (US), a member of The Paley Center for Media's Council (US), and a member of the Executive Committee of Lenox Hill Hospital (US).


Independent Director, Philippe Dauman in particular brings to the Board his knowledge of the Group, in particular in North America, as well as his experience as an executive officer and Director of international industrial groups.


Mr. Dauman holds 1,143 Lafarge shares.
