How do women live in cities and how do they feel about cities? To answer these questions, over 3,000 men and women were interviewed last February in five European metropolises: Paris, Marseilles, Madrid, Warsaw and Krakow.
"There are many key learnings to draw from this survey! First, women living in the European cities selected for the survey, do enjoy their city. However, they acknowledge that city is synonymous with stress and sometimes insecurity. So what can be done to make their lives in the city even better? Urban women identify several solutions: several small centers located in different parts of the city rather than a single-city center for example. They also believe - and men share this view - that cities would be better suited if women were more involved in their design and management."
