Our Stakeholder Panels

Lafarge has created 2 panels which offer a critical perspective on our sustainable development efforts: the stakeholder panel - which comments on our Sustainability Report and works with the Executive Committee to improve our sustainable development performance -, and the advisory panel on biodiversity, which helps us to develop our biodiversity strategy. [GRI G4-37]

The stakeholder panel

Since 2003, members of the panel have met multiple times each year to develop recommendations concerning:

  • the management's sustainable development approach,
  • and the company's environmental and social performance.

The 7 members of the panel, selected for their experience and knowledge, are stakeholder representatives and experts on issues related to corporate responsibility.

The advisory panel on biodiversity

The advisory panel on biodiversity was created in 2006 to advise the Group on its biodiversity strategy and to contribute ideas to improve and develop the Group. The objective is to create a forum which meets twice a year to debate the best environmental practices.

The members of the panel

  • Were chosen for their expertise in biodiversity subjects ranging from the preservation of fauna to international agreements and the management of natural zones.
  • They also represent a broad cross-section of countries and cultures.
