Our research strategy

In the construction industry, innovation is everywhere, from the smallest scale (i.e., materials microstructure) to the most gigantic structures (e.g., Millau Viaduct in France or One World Trade Center in New York City). This is why our innovation approach covers the entire value chain, at every level:

  • Materials (cement, concrete, aggregates)
  • Building systems
  • Buildings
  • Cities, providing them with more housing and making them more compact, more durable, more beautiful and better connected.

In addition, our R&D teams are dedicated to advancing current and future construction trends, as well as the more immediate needs of our clients, including the following:

  • Boosting energy efficiency
  • Reducing construction costs
  • Limiting cement's carbon footprint in our processes and products
  • Reducing environmental impact
  • Promoting comfort, health and well-being
  • Improving aesthetics
