Lafarge and Arcom signed a memorandum of understanding for a joint venture which will see them merging their gypsum businesses in Romanian so creating Lafarge Arcom Gip. The agreement includes a plan to extend a recently built plasterboard plant in the outskirts of Bucharest, which will both satisfy local needs and export to the Balkans.
