France: Chronolia® 24H inaugurates France’s 1st curved cable-stayed

In northwestern France, Lafarge has delivered 18,000m3 of Chronolia® 24H concrete for the construction of a curved cable-stayed bridge. This impressive structure, 515m long and 85m wide, designed by architecture firm Lavigne and Chéron, is a first in France!

Supported by 144 cable-stays and 2 towers, each 100m tall, the bridge is expected to be crossed by 5,000 to 8,000 vehicles a day, while also providing pedestrian and cycle access.

The formulation for Chronolia® 24H was specially optimized to meet the resistance and salinification stresses to which the towers are exposed.
